the cutest baby book

2010 January 14

Have you tried to find a cute and modern baby book lately?  It is IMPOSSIBLE.  Everything I’d found had buttons, ribbon and some kind of animal on it.  Very country-cutesy and very not my style.  So, I started googling.  And googling.  And finally I came across the BEST baby book ever.  Seriously.  I got mine the other day and I keep flipping through it and I’m afraid to write in it because I hate my hand writing.  (I guess I need to get over that. Quickly)

These are  the covers you can choose from: (I chose Pink Java)

It is a binder type book so you can add or take out pages if you want.  Ruby Love even offers other page sets to add to the book after your child’s first year if you want.  It comes with cute and modern pages (ie- no animals staring you down) and a bunch of blank pages in the back which I intend on using as scrap book pages.  Some of the neat pages are ‘This Day in History’ where you can record how much basic essentials cost on the day your baby was born and places for top world leaders and weather conditions in addition to popular TV shows and movies, ect.  There is a place to record when teeth come in (it has an awesome chart thing like the dentist has).  And one of my favorites is a first year calendar that has stickers you can mark big events to record (rolling over, sitting up saying Da-Da)

So…if you or someone you know are still looking for a baby book I’d recommend checking out Ruby Love.  Its a little pricier than a Babies R Us book, but so worth it.

PS- This posting was NOT sponsored by Ruby Love (but I sure wish it was)

I came across this site after visiting this blog and geeking out over her precious nursery!  I think I love everything about that room.  It is inspiring to be because it looks like about the size of our nursery!  (Which we really need to get to work on…)

month 6

2009 December 30
by messynester

Well we are to the point that thebump.com only does a monthly update instead of weekly! So here is my 6 month update (weeks 25-28 for those who want to know)

Today I am 25 weeks.

How far along: 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 2lb gain
Maternity clothes: Pretty much all maternity…
Stretch marks: nope. (crossing my fingers it stays that way)
Sleep: Sleeping fine.  It’s getting to sleep that is hard to do.
Best moment this week: We are starting to clear out my office to start on the nursery!
Movement: Lots of movement!  In fact it takes like 30mins to an hour at night when I lay down for her to stop kicking and poking so I can finally get some sleep!
Food cravings: Nothing in particular…well unless you count french fries with ketchup.  However I was quite the fan before pregnancy.
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out: in but teetering on the edge of coming out.
What I miss: socks and boots are kinda hard to put on now.
What I am looking forward to: really starting the nursery
Milestones: Well, it doesn’t have to do with MY pregnancy.  But my good friend had her baby this week and she is precious.  Kaylen and Addy are going to be very good friends!
